TRIGGERS. None.
MEDICAL INFO. Nothing noteworthy that can't be handwaved with the words "he's an angel".
MENTAL INFO. He was recently betrayed by most of his brothers and sisters and then got shot by the King of Hell. He's not in the best place right now.
FOURTH-WALLING. Well, Supernatural is a book series within the Supernatural universe, written by a deity who is also a metaphor for the show's author. Beat that and win a biscuit.
PHYSICAL CONTACT. Have at it, but Castiel doesn't understand personal space very well (mainly due to not being strictly human) so getting touchy-feely is probably just going to make him confused.
ROMANCE/SEXUAL RELATIONS. Feel free to try, but another word of warning: he learned to kiss by watching the pizza man and he got into an altercation with a prostitute over her distant father. He's not very well-versed in this stuff, but he's starting to comprehend the basic rites and purposes of flirting even if there's a 99% chance most metaphors or innuendo will fly well over his head. Still, he has more important things to do. Like not die.
INJURE/KILL. I'm not too worried, but if in doubt, ask. If trying to kill, you should also probably ask.
DEVICE HACKING. "I... I don't understand, why does it want me to say my name?" - Castiel's cell phone voicemail. Take that as you will. (In other words, he's a bit of a technofailure and hacking is probably fine. Again, if in doubt, ask!)
THREADJACKING. Go nuts. If you're worried, feel free to drop me a line first.
ANYTHING ELSE. Angels from the Supernatural-verse are pretty hard to kill, and there are some prerequisites. If your character's universe has any interesting lore or weaponry or what have you that can kill things like angels, feel free to discuss them with me and see if they count!
extra permissions.
a note.
There's a full list of his (known) abilities here, in case you feel my list isn't comprehensive enough. Which would be understandable. Angels in Supernatural do have a heck of a lot of weird powers. Sorry about that. It may in fact be a good idea to read that whole page if you want to be absolutely sure of what you're dealing with, but it's hella long and I already feel guilty enough about how long this post is so I'm not gonna make you!
Also, everything under "Special Abilities" on the wiki page (except Destructive White Light, on which there's a note below), I'm just nerfing completely. They're complicated and OP and some are things we're not sure Castiel can do in-canon and are mostly gamefuckery I don't want to bother with (like time travel).
If I've missed anything relevant to you or your character, please feel free to call it to my attention!
Feel free to talk to me about using any of this stuff as a plot device. Chances are I'll be willing to play along.
angel mojo (passive).
This is stuff that just kind of innate. Tell me if you have reason for me to take steps to avoid the effects of any of these.
supernatural perception. If your character is invisible or otherwise shielded from mortal vision, Castiel will be able to see them.
telepathy. He can read minds. Unless he actually makes an active effort, all this means is he'll be able to tell what mood your character is in if they're engaged in conversation.
angel radio. Angels can communicate with each other on a kind of weird celestial wavelength. Castiel is going to be unable to phone home while he's on the ship, but it seems likely he'd be able to communicate with any other angels running around in-game. This can be switched on and off, and will be switched off while he gets his bearings or if he's fallen out with his angel pals. He can also use this to tune in to actual radio signals.
true form. Angels use a human vessel to manifest in a form that lets people interact with them, because seeing an angel's true form (a "multidimensional wavelength of celestial intent") or hearing its true voice (an excruciatingly loud ringing sound) will make your eyes burn out and your eardrums bleed respectively. While he's in exitvoid, he will be locked into his body and unable to manifest outside of it.
He will, however, be able to "flash" it briefly if he's in dire trouble to smite/deter things around him. It's bright and damaging and will likely be accompanied by him yelling at everyone to cover their eyes.
Interestingly, some people can behold an angel's true form without ill effect, such as people in the right bloodline to be an angelic vessels. If you think your character might be one of those people, likely for different logical reasons, let me know your reasoning and we can figure that out together.
angel mojo (active).
This is a list of powers Castiel has to make a conscious effort to use. Make sure you let me know if you have anything to say about these or if there's a reason they won't work on your character or anything else. I'll be making efforts to avoid messing up people's meticulously-planned plots with these, too.
strength. Given that the body Castiel is wearing isn't actually him, he's not drawing his power or energy from its muscles. He's a huge energy-based life form, and as such his punches are going to hurt.
telekinesis. He can move things without touching them. Like people, for example. If someone is fighting him, he might be able to do anything from throwing your character against a wall to stopping them from getting any closer, depending on how powerful they are.
teleportation. This is accompanied by the sound of wings. He won't be able to use this ability to access any areas no one else can. He can also only teleport within 20 yards. He can, however, pass by locked doors, provided they're not warded with Enochian symbols; and he can take people with him, if he's in physical contact with them. Don't want him doing that? Let me know!
invisibility. Castiel can walk around invisibly at will. I'll mention when he's doing this - feel free to let me know if your character is likely to be able to see him regardless.
smiting. If he gets the chance to put his hand on someone's forehead, he can smite them. This means they burn from the inside out with holy light. Which is painful, and also deadly. In-game, this is nerfed - it will tire/weaken him considerably. As such, he's unlikely to try it on your character without good reason - but in the event he finds one, chances are I'll discuss it with you OOC first. Also of note: we've never seen him use this on a pure human or another angel. And it doesn't work on really powerful entities, like high-level demons. If your character is incredibly magically powerful, it probably won't work on them, so... we can figure that out together, I guess?
healing. If he can lay a hand on someone, he can heal them of their injuries in the blink of an eye. Unfortunately, this is nerfed in the same way as smiting. It'll tire him out and weaken him, and that's my golden IC excuse for not having him go around getting all up in everyone's injury biz all the time. As such, if you want him to heal your character, you'll probably have to ask him IC and it may take a little convincing. If he has his own reasons to heal someone unprompted, I'll likely take it up with you OOC beforehand.
sedation. Again with the touching. He can render people unconscious with two fingers on their forehead.
soulonoscopy. He can reach into your character's soul and pretty much feel around in there to find out what's wrong. This is incredibly painful for the target, and very dangerous for Castiel - likened to "sticking your hand in a nuclear reactor".
extra info.
Should your character happen to come across knowledge of the Supernatural-verse, or somehow read his mind or learn things about him without him telling them, these might be some of the things you'll find out.
let me know if you need to know anything else, and please use this as a typical permissions post. also, sorry about all this. no, really. angels are pretty ridiculous. :(

- Enochian is the language of angels.
- Certain Enochian symbols can hide people or things from angels, or make it so that angels cannot pass through a doorway or into a room or building.
- There's a certain symbol painted in human blood that temporarily banishes an angel back to Heaven when someone places their palm on it (in exitvoid, Castiel will be sent back to his room).
- More TBA as I think of it, but that seems to be the basics!
